We introduced the term genre Urban Soul and the shows that would begin showcasing the art itself. People just took off and started using the term, but it has always meant the spectrum of sounds you're likely to hear in Chicago music. We're a melting pot, so we have music and visual artists producing everything from Country R & B to Spoken Word Opera mixed with all the House, Soul, Jazz and Gospel in between. And just like the five elements of the Hip Hop Philosophy, Urban Soul is created with a purpose from the soul and for the soul.
